What documents do I need to bring
with me when hiring?
Driver's
Licence. You will need to produce a current full driver's licence held for a minimum of 12 months (endorsements
permitting). If you have the 2-part photocard licence, you will need to bring both the paper part, which shows the endorsements
and vehicle categories, as well as the card part, which contains your photograph.
We also need two forms of identification showing your address, a utility bill, bank or
building society statement, for example, dated within the last six weeks. Don’t bring your passport as it doesn’t
show your address.
You will also need to bring a credit
or debit card to pay the deposit and hire charge. If it’s someone else’s card, the card holder will
need to be present!
How
old do I have to be?
If you are aged over 71, we can still probably hire you a
vehicle, but you must be able to arrange your own fully-comprehensive insurance and bring it with you at the time of hire.
Call us well in advance for more information.
How much is the deposit?
Deposits
vary depending on the type of vehicle you wish to hire and are used to cover the insurance excess charge in the event of an
insurance claim. Unused deposits are credited back to you when the vehicle is returned. Call us on 01387 255137 for more details.
Is the windscreen covered by the insurance?
Windscreen damage is your responsibility.
How can I pay?
Cheques are accepted if a current banker's credit card is produced up to the maximum
stated on the card.
By credit or debit card. All major
credit and debit cards are accepted, including Visa, Mastercard, and Switch, but not Amex. Whole or part payment of charges
may be required by credit or debit card. Outstanding payments are taken from credit or debit cards.
What if I am late returning the vehicle, or I wish to extend
the hire?
It is very important that you contact
us and let us know. We can then advise you of any additional charges and, if required, can arrange payment and insurance cover
by debiting your credit or debit card.
What happens if I break down?
In the unlikely
event of the vehicle breaking down, TMac Van Hire vehicles come with full nationwide breakdown coverage. Details of this will
be included with the documents given to you at the time of hire. It is important that you keep these with you.
What do I do when I bring the vehicle back?
Our vehicles are hired out with a full tank of fuel, so you need to ensure
it is returned with a full tank. Returned vehicles are also checked for any damage.
